Turning Japanese
Well, we got here, through a long eventful series of flights and have been here since the begining of July. I think we have all aclimated quite well to being on the opposite side of the world from where we were. The hardest adjustment at times is the total change in language around us. I sometimes hate that I can't read things, or speak to people out in the general population. Slowly but surely I am learning greetings, along with the soldier and princess. She is a total trooper. Funnier still the Princess has taken a quick grasp on saying Konichiwa, and Konbonwa to greet people, and Arigoto to thank people. They giggle and make comments about how cute it is that she is learning to speak japanese. Well DUH!! I would hope my child learns a lot of it while she is here living. I would really hope that both she and I can speak some. My ultimate goal would be that we would be fluentish. (is that a word?) I have been totally amused with everything and I have been taking photos galore. I will try to put up some soon. I figure since I have some extra time I will even get to blogging a lot more.

final countdown
Well we are down to the final month. The past 6 months have flown by and we are to the end of our time in the United States. This time next month we will be in Okinawa, Japan. I still have to get the princess' travel passport, but everything else is good. We have a couple more shots to get and we will be done with all of that. It was a nightmare to clear the post and get away from the torturous unit we were in. I would have low crawled with a flaming elephant on my back to get out of the company. They even pushed back the soldier from getting cleared until it was a final rush and furry to get things done, and the harrassment didn't stop then either. He would get phone calls asking what was going on, and how things were going. Things are wild all over. He did make Sgt, in March. (about time) Things there have gone ok. It made our housing options better. Speaking of housing, it looks like right now the housing options are pretty full in Okinawa. From what we have been told, they are really full and giving people the choice of a 3 bedroom instead or moving off post. I am hoping that this will still be the case when we get there. I would live on post and not complain if we had an extra bedroom. I told the soldier I would turn it into a craft room/guest bedroom. He didn't complain. I would enjoy being able to have my house looking really nice. Who knows how things will fair after we unpack though. The people coming to pack our stuff were idiots and it was not a plesant experience. They took our bookcases, with the stuff on it, and just wrapped paper around them and loaded them up. And of course our desktop computer was not even wrapped or prepared for moving. Its going to be exciting to see all this funnnnn funnnn funnnn I'm going to have with the claims after I get there. Well I am going to go for now and get some rest. I am thinking I will write some more before heading out, but it depends on how things go.

Long time coming
Well it's been forever since I wrote in here. Life has just been too busy for me to just sit down and write like I have wanted to. The soldier returned from his second deployment, and boy will I post all the insanity that ensued from this year later. He did re enlist while he was over there and we recieved Japan as an option. Being the crazy people we are, of course we took it. The army, for those of you who aren't aware, has two stations that are considered the holy grail of duty stations, Japan, and Italy. Well needless to say in all things karma related, after having to deal with this unit from the bowels of hades, of course we got a decient brake. I'm excited and yet nervious at the same time. I have always wanted to go to Japan, but after doing some research, am very leary because of the higher price of living there. It is a learning experience that I can't deprive the little one from having though. I will have to stock up on my compact flash disks for my camera since I will be taking photos like a crack fiend in a crack house.
All things aside, I do believe the soldier will finally make sgt. WHEW!!!! I never thought it was going to happen, but it looks like his butt will make it. This unit has been such a pain, and I can't even tell how much stupidity happens not even daily but yet hourly with this group. You would honestly not believe how stupid a person, or should I maybe say group of people actually are until you see it first hand in person. I see it a lot and it still dumbfounds me. I truely wonder if the people actually are this idiotic or if they are just undiagnosed extremely low IQ people. I have seen certified mental idiots who are Einsteins compaired to the people in the middle NCO ranks (non-commissioned officer) But that is definately another post. I figured this blog is a way to express all the fun, joys and general rants that I see or have or hear of as an army wife. The soldier is going to make a career of it, so I might as well start my guide for all the other wives out there who might be new to whats going on or the army in general. So this is is the start of the Unauthorized but yet official army wives guide.
